Doctors should maintain professional ethics: V-C

KHAMMAM: I.Venkateswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, has exhorted the young medical graduates and post-graduates to maintain professional  ethics as enumerated by the Hippocratic Oath and uphold the dignity of the noble medical profession. He was speaking at the Institutional Graduation Day of Mamata Medical College, Mamata Dental College  and Mamata College of Nursing at Mamata Medical College campus here on Friday.
 He presented certificates to a total of 279 new graduates and post-graduates of the institutions of  Mamata Educational Society on the occasion.Prof. Rao called upon the outgoing students to show  empathy towards the patients and serve them with sincerity. “You should strive to prove yourself  as an efficient doctor and above all a compassionate person,” he said.
“Tremendous revolutionary changes have been happening in the field of medicine, diagnostic and therapeutic fields besides in the management of illness,” he noted and added that the young medical practitioners should constantly upgrade their knowledge base to apply the newer technologies in medical practice.
“You need to get into more academic pursuit and focus on research to achieve professional  excellence,” he suggested. Mamata Educational Society President Puvvada Ajay Kumar and others spoke.

Prof. Rao also participated in the combined annual day celebrations of the institutions  held at Mamata General Hospital campus here late in the evening. He gave away merit certificates to the best outgoing students at the ceremony. MLC Puvvada Nageswara Rao and others were present.
